Sound Innovations have continuing research and development on all our systems. In the past 20 years the MD Rob Mulliner has been installing Commercial Audio Video and Lighting Systems and whilst his experience in designing these systems is a cornerstone to Sound Innovations it is recognised that no two systems developed during the two decades have been the same.
Research and Development
When Sound Innovations first meet with a client to look at a new project, we find it essential that we meet in person at the project location to ascertain the requirements of the client and how to develop a system that meets this overall design brief. Once the clients project requirements have been logged Sound Innovations undertake the essential research to develop the system to meet this.
Why Research and Development is essential
Research and Development is essential for your systems as there are many factors when installing systems into your buildings. These factors include construction, infrastructure, environment and requirements.
Materials used in the construction of an existing building are a key factor in the development of your system and when researching the technology and hardware to be used.
The existing infrastructure within any given building has a huge impact on how a system is developed. Sending low voltage or signals from sources to Audio Visual equipment is not often as simple as you may think. The available cable run length together with what electrical supplies this may run alongside or crossover, effect how signals can reach the desired equipment location. We continuously carry out research and development on all projects to ensure the clients requirements ate met.
The environment the new commercial Audio Visual or Lighting System will be installed in has a bearing on what equipment can be used, materials will effect how sound travels and is absorbed, projection has resolution, throw distance, projection size, brightness, lens and location to consider when developing a system. Screens need to be the correct size for the room and have the desired viewing angle together with resolution and accessibility. Lighting requires hanging points, projection angles and multiple control points. Researching the technology to achieve the best result when developing your system is key to meeting your requirements.
Client requirements form a huge part of our research and development at Sound Innovations. The factors above are those we have to address and facilitate for the client with R&D. Meeting the clients requirements is the most important part of our research and development at Sound Innovations, the key to the successful implementation of a system is ensuring the end result is what the client expects. Technology is moving faster now than at any time in history and we continually update the technologies we use and through ongoing research and development we are able to keep you up to date.
Keeping ahead of the curve
Our clients often want to discuss the latest technology with us, and at Sound Innovations we tend to deal direct with manufacturers who offer us training and insight into their latest products and their most advanced tech. We will often visit their sites across the globe to enable us to achieve this level of research and design. Recently we have visited Prowise UK, FBT Audio Italy, Optoma Europe UK, International Audio Group IAG China, to name a few.
Not wanting to miss out on new technologies and advances, we visit trade exhibitions around the world to keep ourselves ahead of the curve. This enables us to visit both large and small manufacturers and companies offering innovative solutions. Some of the trade shows we have visited in recent times include; Messe Frankfurt, NAMM USA, ISE Amsterdam, BETT London, Plasa London & Leeds. You can often find information about our visits to these on our Facebook Page, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
